Iris II BRD19
Captain: James Corrigall
Home port: Portree, Isle of Skye
What we catch: Langoustines
Vessel: I run a 12 metre trawler and have been fishing for langoustines for fifty five years now. My father and uncle started fishing for langoustine with creels then they converted to trawling as it was more profitable. I myself have been fishing both the creels and the trawl. Including myself, we are a crew of three.
We land our catch every night as that is whats needed to keep the nice and fresh. The boat is 12 years old and we have had it from new.
Be careful what you ask for... We have had a film crew aboard as three lassies were going to do a 10 day trip on a bigger trawler, they were out for three days days with us and the weather was not very nice...
